It is especially popular among fountain pen lovers thanks to its ability to handle virtually any ink without feathering or bleedthrough. This writing pad uses Tomoe River paper produced by Sanzen. A successor to the original Tomoe River paper by Tomoegawa, this paper features the same great qualities that made the original so beloved.

Fountain pen tests conducted by Yamamoto showed that even with low viscosity inks such as HERBIN pink and red, the drying time was fast and no bleeding occurred on the reverse side even when drawing over the ink.
