Aspen Press

Hand bound notebooks made especially for Nomado Store.

Aspen Press are a letterpress and bookbinding studio located in the heart of the Suffolk countryside in the United Kingdom. 

They print letterpress items on a variety of presses including a vintage Golding Pearl treadle machine which was built in 1889 and two Adana table top presses built in the middle of the last century. All of these machines continue to produce high quality work to this day.

Foil blocking (one of their specialities) is the application of pigment or metallic foil to paper where heated movable type or dies (engraved metal pieces) are stamped onto the foil, making it adhere to the surface of the paper and leaving the design of the type or die on the paper.

Their papers are primarily sourced from traditional mills in the UK for their notebooks and other stationery items.

We were stunned by the quality of their hand bound notebooks and couldn't resist adding them to our assortment! Available in A6 (single signature = slim or French stitching), A5 Large (180 pages), A5 standard (120 pages).
