Ateliers Phileas Kumano Leather Pen Holster (black/single)

Luxury leather handcrafted pen holster for one fountain pen.

In 1839, Edward Bulwer Lytton wrote that "the pen is mightier than the sword". Since the pen is also AP's favourite "weapon", they decided it would be amusing to call their pen "holder" a pen "holster".

The Kumano Pen Holster is named after the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage a series of ancient pilgrimage routes that crisscross the Kii Peninsula, the largest peninsula of Japan. These mountainous trails are used by pilgrims to the Three Grand (shinto) Shrines of Kumano. These three shrines are the holiest Shinto sites of Japan.

Kumano is designed to look slim and elegant, while offering sufficient space to hold and protect one or two (see range) fountain pens. The compartments are designed to house medium size fountain pens (Montblanc 146, Platinum 3776, etc.) or smaller. The leather will feel a bit tight initially, it will stretch and adapt to your pens with use.

AP fitted a practical and robust steel clip to the back of the holster to allow it to be attached to inside pockets, belts, notebook covers, etc.

Finest full grain vegetable-tanned Tochigi leather that will age beautifully and feels fantastic in use, robust stainless steel clip.

Handmade in Japan by skilled craftsmen.

This pen holster is designed to be practical and a joy to use for many years, whether you use it for work, travel or journaling.
