Platinum presents a new 3rd edition of the Preppy WA Modern Maki-e.

Each pen features traditional Japanese patterns and each pattern carries its own auspicious symbol. These patterns are meticulously applied using the modern Maki-e technique. This innovative technique combines the artistry of traditional Maki-e with modern silk screen printing. Layers of coloured powders, such as gold and silver, are meticulously hand-finished by skilled artisans, creating a captivating three-dimensional effect.

This time, with the theme of the Eda period, Platinum have incorporated six patterns related to Eda life onto the body of the fountain pen using a unique Japanese technique, modern Maki-e. These are pop fountain pens with a striking texture that combines unique patterns and elegance. 

Our opinion on this limited edition : the Preppy range offers incredible value even in their basic version. These Maki-e pens are beautifully finished and so affordable that we can't think of a reason not to have one, they write and look great!
