Original Wax Paper Cover Notebook

The RO-BIKI NOTE Texture Series is a new series that challenges the expression of the texture of the paper itself, which is further accentuated by applying a wax finish.
The embossed patterns produced by the engraved press rolls and the tints reproduced from the raw materials coloured under detailed colour control are transformed into deeper expressions through the waxing process. The contrast of transparency that appears due to the difference in wax content can also be enjoyed.

2 cover colours available :

• Shiba-iro (Fushi-iro)
  Shiba-iro is a subdued grayish brown colour dyed by boiling and dyeing twigs of the Shiba plant.
• Shu-hua (splashed/Hanezu)
  Shu-hua is a traditional color name that appears in classical literature, and was once reserved for people of high rank. This light reddish colour fades easily, and because of its transience, it is often compared to the transience of the human heart in old waka poems. The Shuka Odori dance, held every March in Kyoto, is dedicated to dancers wearing costumes of this elegant hue.

Yamamoto use waxed paper for the cover of these notebooks.

In typical Japanese wabi-sabi fashion, these waxed covers will collect marks and scratches with use, each one will become unique.

Drawing on their experience as paper wholesalers , they selected a superb paper that is perfect for for fountain pens, pencils and ballpoint pens.

The thread stitch binding system increases bookbinding strength.
